June 1984- July 2008
We both want to thank the many fine patients, families, and friends who made our careers rewarding. Dr. Novotny and I did our best to provide caring and quality service with an ever mindful concern about expense. To those of you who have sent us cards or spoken to us about our retirement we want to express our appreciation.

We will soon begin our long awaited vacation. Our time share dog Ziggy is near his end (he is 14) and when he goes we will start traveling to all the places in the US that we never had a chance to see. Of course we will remain close for a while since, as many of you know, Dr. Novotny's father needs her. As other siblings begin to help we will take a few days to travel now and again.
We both are getting ourselves repaired to the extent that is possible. I will have both knees scoped for meniscus tears that have been hard to live with for the last year. There has been some discussion about my diet too.
Julie is rehabbing her elbows from the years of stress on the tendons. We should be all fixed up within a year and look forward to using our new motor home to go "camping."
Our great staff remained with the office. Lisa, whom I have known since she was 3 as a patient, has been accepted into the Dental Hygiene Program. Anisa will soon complete her requirements and I expect she will also be accepted this year into the Hygiene Program. Ellie is new but a certain winner and she will begin her path to RDA and beyond next year. Sonny replaced Grace. Grace came and went 4 times over the years but Sonny is much more the RDA the office needs and I am happy she remains with the office.
Of course my all time favorite employee Anita will stay on. She and I did many amazing things in dentistry together and we were able to work together almost without words. I will and do miss her but you will not since she will stay on.
I will dedicate my web site to our adventures and post pics and comments about our travels. My next trip is to Trestles. I stay about 75' from the surf. I am applying for the position of Park Host at the Camp Pendleton part of the Beach. Last comment from management was I was over qualified but I do not think so.

Since our retirement we have been asked by individuals what our position is regarding amalgam filling, sealants, and fluoride treatments. To address these concerns I have added the links below which present the American Dental Association position and we subscribe to that authority.

Dr Wilson has no amalgam restorations and Dr. Novotny has many.
I will also keep track of the dental advertising so interested parties can take advantage of offers or watch out for dentist who may be trying to take advantage of unwary patients.
